The bas-reliefs which are figures sculpted on flat surface rock, were common in ancient Mayan art manifestations.
Many steles and platforms have been found in the Mayan temples.
This picture recreates the profile of a Mayan woman, detail of a figure sculpted on the 26th stele of Yaxhilán.
