Cuando Tengas Ganas de Morirte
Jaime Sabines
Mexican Poet
Esconde la
cabeza bajo la almohada
y cuenta cuatro mil borregos.
Quédate dos días sin comer
y verás que hermosa es la vida:
carne, frijoles, pan,
Quédate sin mujer: verás.
Cuando tengas ganas de morirte,
no alborotes tanto: muérete
y ya.
" Jaime Sabines es uno de los mejores poetas contemporáneos de nuestra lengua, muy pronto desde su primer libro encontró su
voz, una voz inconfundible"
Octavio Paz

When Ever You Feel Like Dying
Hide your head under your pillow
and count four thousand sheep.
Stay without eating for two days,
you’ll see how beautiful life is:
steak,
beans, bread,
Be without a woman: you’ll see
Whenever you feel like dying
Don’t make such a hassle: just
Die!
" Jaime Sabines is one of the best contemporary poets in our language, he found his voice, an unmistakable voice very
soon, ever since his first book"
Octavio Paz
